Hasan Sadiq Sham-e-Qalandar 2008 (Peshawar)

Assalam o Alaikum,

A councillor of the Kucha Risaldar area of Peshawar, Iqbal Shah, invited Hasan Sadiq for a Sham-e-Qalandar in 2008. Luckily I managed to get my hands on a DVD of this event and after some editing, managed to upload 9 videos.

In the playlist below, you will also hear Raza Hasan from time to time. May Allah bless him with a good future. He is very talented!
Please click on the button between the 'play' button and video duration bar to enable viewing related videos of this playlist. There are 9 of them!

Hasan Sadiq Assorted Qasiday (Faisalabad)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Hasan Sadiq has been releasing qasiday/dhammal albums for many years now. I first came to know of this back in 2004/05 when Hasan Sadiq came to Islamabad and left an album at our home. Since then, I have been listening to his qasiday/dhammal albums regularly. During some years, he's been so prolific that he's released three albums -- one for nohay, one for manqabat, and one for qalandari dhammal.

My father purchased a whole set of his qasiday/dhammal albums in audio cassette format and digitized them to audio CDs. The playlist below contains a sample set of 30 of his Qasiday/Dhammal. Since some of these were before the time of CDs, only the audio was available, so we have presented the Qasiday/Dhammal on top of a slide show of religious images:

Please click on the button right beside the play button to scroll through the list of qasiday in this playlist. There are 30 of them!

Hub e Ali Qasiday Album 2005 (Sukkur)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Some history ..... I created my YouTube channel HaiderImran on August 12, 2007, but it wasn't until May 18, 2008 that I started uploading videos on YouTube. The album presented below was my first ever album uploaded on YouTube for momineen and mominat worldwide! and the first video that I uploaded was the evergreen qasida

Rab Jane Te Hussain Jane

originally recited by Ustad Pyare Khan, which Hub e Ali recited again in his beautiful voice along with a little touch of zakiri. Ever since then, Alhamdulillah I have been uploading videos on YouTube ( > 500!) with total video views in excess of 1,000,000 and counting. Uploading this album was truly an auspicious beginning for myself. Please press the play button once and allow yourself to listen to the complete album .....

Zafar Abbas Zafar and Sohail Shah 2003 (Islamabad)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi (of Karachi) was invited for a series of five majalis 'khamsa' at Markazi Imambargah, G-6/3 Islamabad, back in 2003. He introduced Zafar Abbas Zafar and Sohail Shah at this khamsa, who at that time were not relatively known as poets. They instantly made their mark on the local public and from that time on, they have been regular reciters at various majalis in northern Pakistan.

The playlist below contains most, if not all, of the kalam that these two recited at the Markazi Imambargah during their stay in Islamabad. This playlist is a valuable resource for those momineen who wish to recite kalam at majalis as it contains various Rubai, Manqabat, Qasida, Salam, Marsiya, and Tabarra.

Nadeem Sarwar in Hussainia Hall 2006 (Peshawar)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Syed Nadeem Raza Sarwar was invited to our 9th annual Shab Bedari programme (8th year) which was conducted at Hussainia Hall, Saddar, Peshawar. This Shab Bedari was Nadeem Sarwar's 5th Shab Bedari recitation in Peshawar. He was invited for the first time in 1999 (Inshallah more on this Shab Bedari series later.)

A unique aspect of this Shab Bedari was that Nadeem Sarwar proceeded in full Zakirana style and conducted majlis-o-matam himself. Nadeem Sarwar started with reciting Hamd & Manqabat followed by Masaib and Nohay. He recited nearly 25 kalam in this programme. This Shab Bedari is presented below:

Syed Hussaini Pashto Noha Album 2009 (Kohat)

Assalam o Alaikum,

After listening to Syed Hussaini in a live program in Hussainia Hall, Saddar, Peshawar, I was compelled to acquire Syed Hussaini's Pashto Noha album. An aunt very graciously gave me Syed Hussaini's 2009 noha album as a gift. I found Syed Hussaini as tremendously gifted and I have uploaded this album especially for the brave Pashto speaking momineen of northern Pakistan who have given numerous sacrifices over the years in defense of their religion & way of life.

Chakwal Party 'Geo Group' 2005 (Chakwal)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Over the years, various matami sangatain have gained fame for their heart wrenching nohay or style of matam and azadari. Chakwal party has both. Even as a child, I had memories of groups coming from Chakwal to attend majalis and juloos in Islamabad. These groups had a unique style of matam where they literally would spring a few inches off the ground while doing matam . This would increase the intensity of their matam to a new level.

The videos below don't really show this unique style of matam; however, by listening to the nohay, you will realize their amazing heritage. Whereas I've managed to only upload a single album (2005) from Chakwal party, one can find many more latest albums online in both audio and video format.

Asad Abbas and Ali Abbas Album 2008 (Faisalabad)

Assalam o Alaikum,

During a Shab Bedari in 2008, Asad Abbas came to Peshawar along with his uncle Hasan Sadiq and cousin Raza Hasan. He gave us his first noha album in cassette form which I happily digitized and made available for momineen. His brother Ali Abbas is also named in the title; however, I recognize the voices of both brothers and based on my own judgement, I think he has recited most nohay in this album himself.

Just as a reference for momineen, this whole family is involved in Azadari (though there are a few who are involved in professional singing as well). Asad Abbas and Ali Abbas are the nephews of Hasan Sadiq, Sharafat Ali, and Nazakat Ali. Asad Abbas and Ali Abbas are also the cousins of Raza Hasan and Amanat Ali. All of these people have achieved successes in their professional lives. Hasan Sadiq, Sharafat Ali, and Raza Hasan are involved in reciting nohay and qasiday, whereas the others are mostly involved in professional singing; however, due to their religious beliefs, they are also involved in azadari during the holy months of Moharram and Safar.

Shaukat Raza Shaukat Majlis 2006 (Peshawar)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Shaukat Raza Shaukat was invited to Imambargah Haji Malik Rehman (also known as Marviha), Peshawar for two consecutive years 2006 & 2007 to recite majlis in his own unique style. In this post, his first majlis is presented for momineen.

This series of videos was acquired from a brother, S Mubashir Ali, who I'd like to acknowledge for his tremendous services to the propagation of azadari in Peshawar.

Syed Haider Raza Zaidi Album 2002 (Islamabad)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Syed Haider Raza Zaidi or simply known to me as Haider Bhai is one of the nicest persons that I have came across over the years. Haider Bhai originally hails from Arifwala, District Pakpattan, Punjab; however, he worked in Islamabad and also recited Manqabat and Soz-o-Salam in the central Imambargah. This is how I got to know him. He is one of the most gifted/talented Manqabat and Marsiya Khwan that I have seen.

As for the album Soz-o-Salam that I have attached below, if memory serves me right, I seem to remember that Haider Bhai gave me this cassette back in 2002. I have had the good fortune of hearing each track live whether it was a manqabat, soz, salam, or marsiya. Please listen to the complete album. I am sure you'll hear it over and over .....

Assalam o Alaikum,

Two years back, a good friend from Peshawar 'Sajjad Bhai' gave me a very nice noha album from an Anjuman in Skardu, Baltistan. The main noha reciters for this Anjuman are Iqbal Hussain & Yaqoob Hussain. They've recited nohay in Urdu and in their native language, Balti. You can watch the entire album below:

Safdar Abbas Shab Bedari 2004 (Usterzai Payan)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Back in 2004, Hasan Sadiq had come to Peshawar for a Shab Bedari program. His next stop was Usterzai Payan. Since Usterzai wasn't so far away, my father went with Hasan Sadiq to attend his Shab Bedari program. Safdar Abbas had just recited in Usterzai a few days ago and my father was given a CD of Safdar Abbas's program. This CD was lying around for a number of years until I managed to salvage a few tracks. All the nohay that I managed to salvage are extremely good. Please watch them below:

Safdar Abbas will be in Peshawar this year too!

Sohail Shah Home Recording 2009 (Peshawar)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Last year we had the honor of hosting a number of zakireen at our Peshawar home for a Shab Bedari program (I am yet to upload the complete Shab Bedari; stay tuned!). These zakireen included Allama Arshad Ameer Abidi (nephew of late Allama Irfan Haider Abidi), shair-e-Ahle-Bait Zafar Abbas Zafar, shair-e-Ahle-Bait Sohail Shah, and noha khwan Hasan Sadiq.

After the Shab Bedari program, Allama Abidi and Hasan Sadiq had to leave; however, Sohail Shah and Zafar Abbas Zafar had almost a day before their flight back to Karachi. Prior to departing, they kindly agreed to a home recording of their selected kalam.

Sohail Shah recited a Rubai, 3 Qasiday, and 1 Marsiya for us. I just finished uploading these videos and they are posted for our respected viewers below. Please watch all of them:

Home recording videos of Zafar Abbas Zafar 2009 (Peshawar) will be uploaded and available soon.

Matami Sangat Haider Karrar 2007 (Rawalpindi)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Quite some time ago, my childhood friend, Mohsin Raza Qureshi gave me a Urdu & Punjabi noha album from his Matami Sangat Haider Karrar (2007). Matami Sangat Haider Karrar is located in Satellite Town / New Katarian Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Mohsin has been reciting nohay with this Matami sangat for many years now and he can be spotted in most of the videos reciting nohay with the salaar (Mohammad Ali) and other members. A number of his brothers are key members of this Matami Sangat and they are involved in all aspects of the operation of this Matami sangat.

Many people have uploaded live juloos and matamdari videos from Matami sangat Haider Karrar. A simple Google or YouTube search will reveal the above fact. The album below has many nice nohay. Of course, you should listen to the complete album; however, I strongly recommend listening to the following nohay if you can't listen to the full album:

1. Hai Ronda Khoon Muhari Zainab De Naam Nu Cha Ke
2. Inj Di Howi Wida Jag Tu Hai Sayyeda
3. Suraj Teri Ankhain Bhi Khuli Hain Bint-e-Zahra Bhi Khari Hai

Please click the bottom right button on the customized player above to see all 9 videos from this noha album.

Imam Hasan Taboot Shab Bedari 2009 (Peshawar)

Assalam o Alaikum,

Recently, I finished uploading the complete Shab Bedari program from 26 Safar 2009. This was the annual Shab Bedari program organized by Dasta-e-Abbas, Hussainia Hall, Peshawar to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hasan (A.S). There were many zakireen at this program:

Majlis 1: Syed Sibtain Ali Naqvi
Majlis 2: Waseem Abbas Sherazi
Noha Khwani: Syed Hussaini (Pashto)
Noha Khwani: Shahid Baltistani

A unique aspect of this Shab Bedari was that many momineen did Zanjeer Zani when the departed Taboot of Imam Hasan (A.S) returned to the Imambargah. The departure and subsequent return of the Taboot was a recreation of what actually happened. Please view the complete program through the embedded player below or here.

Introductory Post

Assalam o Alaikum,

I have created this blog as a support site for my azadari-oriented YouTube channel HaiderImran.

YouTube has done a wonderful job providing a place for us to upload videos; however, their organization capabilities are not entirely adequate. I plan to use this blog to present my videos in a much more effective way.

As of today, Jan. 21, 2010, I am approaching 450 video uploads with a total video viewership in excess of 915,000 on my channel HaiderImran. Almost all of my videos are organized into 41 playlists; however, I can see that the playlist views are appalling. This blog will hopefully rectify that. This blog will also allow me to promote the work of others who are working round the clock to promulgate azadari of Syed-us-Shuhada Imam Hussain (A.S).

I am also unhappy at YouTube changing the outlook of their playlists. The old linear look was better. Anyhow, we have to deal with the resources at hand! One of these resources is Blogger. Since Blogger and YouTube both are presumably owned by Google, I hope to find it easy integrating these services.

Due to the nature of my uploads, most of my viewers are of a Pakistani/Indian background. Naturally, most of the viewers of this blog will be of a similar background. However, I expect people from other nationalities to come across Pakistani azadari through my blog. Regardless of your background, please leave a comment and let me know how I can further improve my work.

Wassalam,
Imran Haider.
